• My Review
  The Crystal Prince is a book filled with color, imagination, and a wonderfully moral story. This book is categorized as Juvenile Fiction/Readers/Beginner. Every other page of the 70 pages is filled with colorful illustrations, so it is a good length for young readers. The names and some of the vocabulary may be difficult for very young readers (up to third grade) so I would recommend a parent reading with them to explain the words that are unfamiliar to the child.

  The story is a delightful tale of a kingdom where greed changes people on the outside as well as inside. Even better is the miracle wrought through the strength and power of love and faith. When Ganthian was denied the throne by his kingly father because of his selfishness and pride, he plotted with supporters to kill his younger brother, Xanthian. When the plot was foiled the attackers fled to the woods and became trolls, appearing as ugly on the outside as they were on the inside.

  One thousand years later they put in action a daring plan to take over the kingdom they had been denied. Trolls kidnapped the Prince and held him in their caves, preparing to turn him into one of their own.

  What happens to the prince and the trolls is nothing short of a miracle. This story is a wonderful message of love, charity and kindness. It’s something that must be shared.

  I noticed three charities listed in the front of the book. Habitat for Humanity, Smile Train, and Pink Ribbon International are all great works that benefit many. The author is using this book to help them. So, if you enjoy the message of love, kindness and charity, the purchase of this book will give you a tender story and the chance to share with those in need.

This is a wonderful children’s book perfect for a tween or a bed time story for younger children. This book is beautifully illustrated, but some of the pictures may be a bit scary for very young children. Kids may have a difficult time pronouncing or reading the character names in this book, parents as well! All in all, this is a very sweet story that teaches about love and forgiveness, a wonderful fairytale that I cannot wait to read to my nieces and nephews.
