The Publishers Review

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

Dear Jeanette,

We are honored you have selected Outskirts Press. I am pleased to report that your book The Crystal Prince has been accepted for publication through Outskirts Press.  I want to be the first to congratulate you.

I would like to share my overall impression of your work: I love it when authors teach lessons through children’s stories.  What a great story about friendship and forgiveness. You really have a nice way with words and your writing has a certain flair to it.  Even in your short story you have created round, believable characters filled with emotion.  Your plot is engaging and fluid and you really speak to your audience through your words. I found your story to be fun to read.  Overall your book is nicely crafted and written vivid imagery. Your images in your work really make your story come to life.

We look forward to working with you on your book.  Congratulations again.

Sincerely,

Lisa Conner

It’s For The Children

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

My Children are my life and inspiration for everything I do. I want the best for them and try to teach them the right values and principles to prepare them to go out into the world productively and softly as quality human beings. I’m sure this is what all loving parents want for their children. What I have come to realize is the need for more books, movies and entertainment teaching morals, values and valuable lessons depicting right from wrong, light from darkness and good from evil, stories showing that there are consequences to our actions in this life that echos through out eternity.

The Crystal Prince is a story that teaches lessons about friendship and forgiveness, where faith, hope and love are the keys that bring about miracles. I know I have been blessed and have also had my share of trials which have made me who I am today. If I can give back by helping even one person with the lessons I’ve learned then my trials will have not been in vain. After all isn’t that what it’s all about, helping each other up and making this world a better and safer place for our children.

Last year I felt inspired that this was the right time to release my story to share it’s message of hope and faith with the world and that love is the only way… I dedicate this book to my precious children and all the precious children of the world.

The story behind ‘The Crystal Prince’

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

The Crystal Prince is a very special story to me and came about one night when my husband was very ill with chills and a fever and needed to be comforted. As I sat on the bed beside him caressing his face and hair I felt inspired to tell him a story to get his mind off his pain and discomfort so he could relax and go to sleep. My mind immediately started going through my memories of the different stories I had heard as a child or made up in the past and none of them seemed right for this situation.

Although I hadn’t had my children yet my natural mothering and nurturing instincts kicked in. My heart felt heavy with love and concern and knew this would need to be a special story just for him, a story of faith, hope and love that could encourage him to believe that he would get better soon and all would be well again. All the sudden I started speaking and the words just flowed out of me as if I had told this story a hundred times and didn’t stop until the whole story from beginning to end was delivered. I truly felt inspired and surprised at the same time and knew this wasn’t just another story but a gift from heaven with a message that I should share with the world.
